STORE CATTLE – 183 FORWARD Auctioneer: Simon Draper
Another clearance this week, strong cattle just as dear while the 8 to 12 month cattle were probably a little less money.
M/S Bulstrode Farm Buildings sold their Blonde x steer 24 months at £1290 and their Piedmontese x steer 24 months at £1280. M/S Williams sold their usual quality Aberdeen Angus x steers at £1280. M/S Whitehead, Chackmore sold their 12 month Angus x steer at £1008 and their bulls at £908. Red Devon x steers, 18 months from John Grainge sold at £945 while Simmental x grazing steers 18 months from HJ King and Son sold at £910.
Several runs of stronger heifers were well bid for with an Aberdeen Angus heifer to £1288 from M/S Williams, Bradden. Paul Lory sold a British Blue x to £1222 and £1190. M/S Williams sold another Angus x heifer at £1185 while a pen of Angus x heifers from Rob Lawrence sold at £1122. Andy Deverall showed a pen of smart Blue and Limousin x heifers 12/15 months to £1125 for Limousin x and £1055 for Blue x. M/S Fenemore sold their Limousin x heifers to £1102 and £928. Blue x Friesian heifers from M/S Stockil sold at £1005. Aberdeen Angus x British Blue heifers 12 months from NJH Jackson sold at £810 at 12 months.
A single Aberdeen Angus x cow and calf from Rycote Farms sold at £1180 while feeding heifers and cows over 30 months old 30 months sold to £1055 for Limousin x from Neil Chard and £930 from A & E Deverall.
