Thame Farmers Auction Mart (TFAM) is a Friendly Society formed by 370 shareholders who purchased the business and 21 year lease for Thame Cattle Market from South East Marts in June 2000. In June 2008, Fisher German (Chartered Surveyors) took over the responsibility for the professional services work, previously carried out by TFAM, and is also based at offices on the cattle market site.
The main market is based in Thame with a smaller market held at Foscote on Mondays (formerly known as Winslow) which is based just outside Buckingham. Thame market days are Wednesday (Primestock) and Friday (Storestock) with Tuesday the Deadweight collection day.
TFAM is involved with the marketing and selling of both live and dead weight stock across a large geographical trading area. Mobile Fieldsmen are available for on-farm quotations and general farm enquiries.
TFAM also actively organise Farm-to-Farm sales and Collective Machinery Sales, with specialist livestock sales held periodically throughout the year.
Nationally, TFAM is linked with Thame and Bicester Annual Summer Sheep Fair (Friday 6th August 2010) which is one of the biggest National sheep events of the year - see Sheep Fair for more information.
